I am sooo bad!

I really thought that I would keep up this blog thing. Wrong! My life is so random that Ihave trouble having a really normal day that I can comment on.

Today I went to my friend's bridal shower and it was fun! She got some good loot and

Open for Suggestions!

Soon I will be posting wedding and event pictures on this blog. I sometimes have to wait a couple weeks or more to receive pictures from the photographers. On the marshlight.com website, the pictures will be random. I will share more intimate shots with story lines here on Mymarshlight. I will of course need permission from the Brides and Grooms.
Since I am on my own now I will be changing the way I work. I have been offered an affiliation with Weddings on the Strand. I will still keep MarshLight Events for those of you who want more personalized weddings. As my clients can tell you, I love doing the little extras that make their events personal.
I am always open to suggestions so if you have something to share with me please feel free to email me. kym@marshlight.com

DONE!

I have been at the rivah house for a few days with my sister Jane and her kids, Hailey, Anya, and Devin. My cousin Jeanne came down as well. We had fun and now I am spring cleaning.
The wedding went off without a hitch! Everything was great and they are so happy to be married to each other! Now they are in Aruba sipping drinks with little umbrellas....
The beach ceremony site was pretty with the arbor and sand ceremony table. I painted it pink and draped it with sheer white fabric. I placed lanterns from the stairs to the arbor to make an aisle. We tied black flower holders filled with pink roses down the railings. Pink and Black balloons made up the rest of the decorations. The weather was perfect even though it was 91 degrees! A great day all in all!

The Train is upon us!

The wedding of E & E is 2 days away. We have been really busy completing everything. Pink and black are the colors and that stuff is overwhelming in my tiny cookshed! That is my temporary workshop. Megan Jenkins is working with me on this wedding and has been a prize! I think she is over the colors. I just hope Mother Nature is kind. Tomorrow is supposed to be 100 degrees then it may cool down to 90 for Friday. Sun Screen is all I can say! I am off to bed so I can rise at the crack again. Next week-vacation! I am packing my bags for the Rivah House and hope to capture my perfect marshlight for my newly designed web site. Oh, my hat is off to David Ingram for turning Mr. Peanut PINK! What can I say, the yellow did not match the wedding cake! More on that later!

Slammed!!!

It looks like I am not being faithful to my blog after all. I am very busy getting ready for the 8/8/08 wedding of E&E. We are keeping an eye on Mother Nature for sure. This coming week all efforts will be placed on the decor for the wedding. I am washing, painting and packing Marshlight's pretties for them. I went to Dagwood's yesterday to do some final measuring and discovered a very unusual black iron wine rack. It is unused I am told, But I am going to pull it out and use it at the entrance. It will take all I can pull out to make the deli look pretty.
The beach ceremony will be very simple but elegant. Just in case MN does not cooperate, we do have a large screened porch and a large living room in the beach house.
I tried to post pictures and obviously it didn't work. I will get some tech help and get some up.
My web man David Ingram from Ocean Graphix is redesigning my website. I am excited about this! He is changing the colors to my favorite BLUES and I will get a softer more feminine look. After all it is brides that are looking for a Wedding Planner most often! I am after the perfect MarshLight picture to use.
My daughter Karen and her family just returned home from a Disney vacation. Lily is a little less enamored with the princess thing so they did a lot of Sea World. I can't wait to see pictures! Morgan rode a roller coaster 2 times. Karen said he had a love-fear thing with the ride. Laura and Brad are searching for a car that is good on gas. Poor Brad! He has to give up his truck. They spend an unheard of amount of money every month on gas. That is life in Atlanta for you. Gotta get busy... Our Uncle is in the hospital with heart problems again. Pray for him! Lily calls him Uncle Doc a Dewey.

Idle Chatter

Well, Let me see what I have now. My niece Stephanie Beckham is engaged! Her love Brad did the good southern gentleman thing and asked her Daddy for her hand in marriage. I always say those nice boys with manners have a good Mama! They have not set a date yet. I hope it is not this year! Whew!
Miss Lynn who is tying the knot in November has had so much trouble finding a gown. We went every where! She ended up at Sew Biz here in Myrtle Beach for a custom made dress. I know she is relieved! They ordered the lace and I know it is going to be gorgeous........
My Granddaughter Lily Anne Pillow is turning 5 this week. I had trouble finding a gift for her. Along with PJs and a dress I got her a baby doll that gets a fever! Have you ever heard of that? She comes with band aids, a stethoscope, shot needle, and toys. I got Morgan Scott Pillow a curious George that tumbles. He calls George KEY. Short for monkey...It is not a birthday gift-he turned 2 in April. It a because I can gift. I am adding a photo of my babies taken last week by their Mom Karen. She is the owner of Picturelily Photography in GA.
My daughter Laura is coming for the 4Th along with her tall handsome husband of 2 years. Today is Laura's 26Th Bday. Tomorrow is the 2 year wedding anniversary. Busy week! Happy Bday LA! Congrats for tomorrow LA and Brad!
I must go and spray paint the last coat on some wicker baskets for E&E. They are kindly putting favor baskets in the guest rooms for the wedding that is commin as fast as a train! Later...

Wednesday

Wednesday is trash day here at our house. I guess I will throw some your way. We spent a few days in Atlanta with our Children and Grand Children. They are always fun to be with. Karen our oldest is married to Scott. They have the kids-Lily 5 next month and Morgan -2. Lily was a polka dotted tap dancer on Saturday. The class performed Good Ship Lollipop and did very well! The rest of the recital was not so great! I am a firm believer in recitals for the little kids only. But that is just me being selfish with my time.
The summer heat started early. I hope that my August wedding is not going to be so HOT and HUMID! That really is asking too much. Hey, we live at the beach! We are doing a beach wedding weather permitting. E & E are planning to do a sand ceremony. For those of you who are not familiar with this, colored sand is poured together by the bride and groom to signify unity. Most people use a unity candle service for this, however, the beach makes this very hard to achieve. E & E are using black and pink sand. They purchased an arch to marry under. I will wrap it with a garland made of lemon leaves and baby pink silk.
We are decorating a deli and bar for the reception. THAT is always a challenge.
My November wedding is going to be done in a Hotel California meets Shakespeare theme. Very rustic using moss, branches, deep red roses and other flowers and Tiffany Blue gift boxes. My nieces friend stated that this bride is very brave!
If anyone cares at all to keep up with me and my weddings, We are going to have our September 07 wedding featured in Carolina Bride magazine in June. I have been in local publications before, but I am very excited about this one. My good friend Lynn Cole of Lynn Cole Photography took the photos and her work is so beautiful! I think we make a good team!
I hope to be better at this blogging thing.

I'm Bad!

Well, it is now May the 10Th and I have not had anything to say. I guess I can share one of the weddings I am doing. E & E are a really cute couple and I am enjoying getting to know them.
Last night as I was stuffing and stamping the invitations for their August wedding, it hit me how important my job is. These people trust me completely with their most important day! I was worried about each postage stamp being on straight and every address being correct.
We have to mail the invitations earlier than usual because the Fam is from up north and have to make expensive travel plans.
Tonight I get to stay at our riverhouse in Pawleys Island. That means my marshlight sunset! My husband is hoping for a dead low tide so he can kayak for golf balls. My sister Jane and family are down for the week end and I can't wait to see them. Gotta eat! later.....

First day

This is my first post and I really can't think of anything to say! How sad is that? I will get my thoughts together as I work on a couple of weddings and get back to you later.
